I was just searching the Rev Well+ app for the podcast you did on this very topic. I feel like I am surrounded by people who are “disappearing” overnight! Makes me so discouraged in my flesh but grateful to have the prompting of the Holy Spirit to look for Truth! Thanks again for your wisdom and insight.
There are no quick fixes or shortcuts to dying to our flesh that leads to life. I’m with you. Do something each day that feels like you told you flesh where to go and invited the Spirit to take over. It will hurt a bit at first but see Him seeing you and you both being happy. He’s pleased when He sees your face. Your flesh can’t stand in His presence.
Alisa, I can’t tell you how pivotal the timing of this message was. I was recently seen by my family Dr, for several things. I did mention my weight, and we had a lengthy discussion. Some of my bloodwork was abnormal as well.
I was shocked how quickly she suggested a weight loss shot, and also how quickly I started to consider it as an option.
It felt like temptation and thankfully I’ve learned enough to run to Jesus with these thoughts and let him guide the decision.
Doing the deeper work is a must. I’ve decided to pursue a function medicine dr first.
Just thought I’d share in case anyone else would benefit from hearing!
So kind of the Lord to lead you to 1. this page at this time, 2. a functional med doctor. Keep us posted. And I hope to serve you well on your following Jesus with your body! :)
I am so grateful to you for the message you continue to share, your love for Jesus, revelation wellness all of it! I was in brigade 1 livewell training🎉
Great read and perspective...oh boy it all goes back to the heart...I do not want to shame anyone either as the struggle is real, however what you have to do to get to your "happy" weight is what you have to do to stay there ...sustainablility needs to be healthy and what increases peace in our heart, body and minds. I want peace more than that "happy" weight.
Thanks, Alisa, for this timely post! I’m having lunch with a friend tomorrow who I suspect has been using one of these products. I’d never want to shame her about her choices and I’m praying for wisdom when the subject comes up.🙏🏻
Yup. No shame. Just be curious and stay kind. And ask questions but don’t condemn. The enemy loves to get us to shame one another. But just keep the facts in mind..how you lose it is how you live it. We all get to choose how IF loss is needed. (Some women are taking this medication who don’t even need it. They have no health issues and just vanity issues. It’s Heart breaking. )
Feeling like our bodies don’t fit in. They are “other” and not “it”. It’s a side effect of sin that brought us shame. We no longer see ourselves rightly. Everyone feels “other” in their bodies in one way or another. For example, I’m only 5ft 1. I can feel “other” when everyone else around me is taller than me.

You got it! How you lose it is how you live it. And the same can be said for gain.

I want to know more about what you mean by ‘otherness’
