I’ve started my day for as long as I can remember in my adult years, stepping on to the porch with coffee … and sunrise.
And I’ve started lately doing it with no worship music .
Just started doing it in silence .
And I’m telling you. Those 10 minutes are some of the best 10 minutes of my day and I stand and listen … to nature but also to Holy Spirit. He’s been loud 🩵
I completely hear you on the silence. Before cell phones I remember taking long walks without podcasts, Facebook, YouTube, etc. No distractions. Just walking and intentionally listening to myself, the birds, neighbors, nothing, God. I’m returning to that but electronics seem to have some very strong gravity, akin to a black hole at times. Sucks the time and life right out of me. So I return to my journal and write down how I’m going to simplify and reduce consumption. Then I grab my phone (for safety sake) to go on my walk and there I go again. Off the wagon. You’d think as a 51-yo woman I could step away. Thankful for your newsletter here though. I’ve been working out with you from your early YouTube days from your living room recordings. Going to set the phone down again. 😉💗🙏🙌
This was a refreshing surprise in my email today! God called me to take a complete break off all social media this year so this Newsletter is a delightful gift for me and I’m so happy you are doing this. This year I’m being more present with my surroundings and the people who are in it, I’m reading and learning more, but I’m also doing this in silence so much more. I can totally relate to thinking more and honestly hearing God clearer while practicing doing things with silence. My soul has been settled down since no social media and I’m honestly loving it now! It was a huge eye opener and heart check for me. I’m diving into menopause, the brain, and all things hormones. Here is a great interview you might love! I ordered the book brain food by Lisa Mosconi and have thought of sending you this link many times! This is a perfect opportunity. I miss you and my Rev community so much.

Yes! Me too. Worship music still has its place just not in all places. Silence has returned to me my thoughts.
Love this
